These leads are fantastic for training and teaching your dog to sit, wait, stay, recall etc. They have the 2 trigger clips, one attaches to your dogs collar and the other can be moved up and down the lead, attaching to either of the 2 rings that are placed at different lengths on the lead for either short or long control.
For me, I like to give my dogs a little more freedom, allowing them to sniff and investigate but without having to let them off the lead if I am in a busy or unsuitable area for off lead walks.
I find these leads much easier to use than a flexi lead in busy streets and built up areas without fields and running space nearby. Sometimes I find Flexi leads cumbersome and awkward to use, especially when passing other dogs and passers by. I like to feel I have a normal lead in my hand when walking my dogs on pathways. Training leads do not give as much freedom as Flexi leads but if I am out for a brisk on-lead walk in a busy area, the training leads are perfect and give just enough freedom for doggy stops as required.
